
Offpiste
Offpiste, also know as Backcountry skiing paticuaralry in the States. The two terms can be used interchangeably and refer to skiing away from the marked pistes or trails. The snow is unprepared as nature intended!
Skiing offpiste takes practice and the conditions can change daily or hourly. The best conditions are usually consider to be fresh powder snow but its not always all about that.

What is it?
In europe anywhere on the mountain outside the piste marker poles is considered OFFPISTE The snow is not prepared, patrolled or secured so its important to know how to ski it, where to go and whether its safe to do so. Not to mention have all the right equipment.
Who is it for?
From strong intermediate skiers looking to further explore the sport, get away from the crowds and experience more of the mountain, And of course for powder hounds searching for the best snow.
What to expect.
Coaching, Guiding, it all depends on who you are and what you want. Either way we strive to find the best snow and terrain for your needs. The ski lift sytem is used to access the the offpiste. But sometimes we might make a short hike to find the best snow.
What do I need?
Ideally an offpiste type ski, Great if you have your own Transceiver, Shovel, Probe & Air Bag. But if not we will provide all safety equipment. as required.
Is it safe?
Everything carries risk, from getting out of bed to climbing 8000 meter peaks! When done correctly and good educated decisions are made, offpiste skiing can be considered as safe as driving a car (safely). If uneducated decisions are made or just blindly going, it can be extremely dangerous which is why if skiing offpiste without the required knowledge and training, going with a qualified instructor / guide is highly recommend.
