"Tignes & Val d'Isere is the perfect place for early season skiing. Whilst most resorts in the Alps have only been open for a couple of weeks, the Espace Killy will have been open for well over a month, with the season well under way at the start of this course.

Of course we always hope for great off-piste conditions to play in but we will also work on all aspects of your skiing to help deal with the variety of conditions you will find in the backcountry.

But importantly, off-piste skiing is not just about ski technique, we will develop your touring skills like route selection, up and down the mountain, snow and mountain awareness including avalanche / transceiver training."

Who's it for?

This course is for competent off-piste skiers who need to brush up on their skills, you can already ski all over the mountain but want to keep progressing and pick up a few tricks and keep up-to-date with modern skiing, equipment and techniques. You may not have much experience of ski touring if any.

Whats included?

5 Days on snow tuition. 6-7 hours on snow per day. Instructional guiding, Off-piste mountain skills & technical skiing skills.
Avalanche safety equipment, Transceiver shovel, probe (Although it's well worth investing in these items so you get used to using your own).

Whats not included:

Flights, Accommodation, lift pass. Price is for course only.

Itinerary:

Mon - Warm up ski, transceiver training. Skiing skills development.

Tues - Short tour and search for snow, Ski Ski!

Wed - Longer tour/skin, depending on conditions.

Thur - More skiing, skills development.

Fri - Play time, possibility of another tour.

Gear:

Off-piste skis with a waist width of 95-105, Ideally bring touring skis but these can be hired in resort for the day/s we use them.
Bring a back pack, capable of carrying avalanche safety equipment and big enough for touring, approx 30l.
